Originally posted on “True Faith Defender” in response to “Online Discernmentalist Mafia” and “Surph’s Side” blog.  I still ask the question in public of when will “Online Discernmentalist Mafia” write satire on Steve Camp’s ex-girl friend and Ken Silva’s faithful girl friday otherwise known as “Denise of Surph’s Side blog”.  Denise’s breakup with Steve Camp over the Mark Driscoll  matter has to be one of the greatest Drama Queen events in American Spiritual Discernmentalist history to date.   However, Denise tends to be the Drama Queen of Spiritual Discernmentalism.

Frankly, it doesn't look like a picture of me. My only response to "The Online Discernmentalist Mafia" blog. I believe I will find a better watchdog photo for my blog as a result of this photo.

I have recieved a response from Susan Castillo and I am convinced that Denise of Surph’s Side blog is guilty of slander. In addition, Christian Research Network is guilty of spreading slander for not checking the accuracy of gossip posted on Surph’s Side blog. Was it too much for both to check the accuracy of their claimed facts before publishing something on the internet. Neither Surph’s Side blog or Christian Research Network has obeyed the Bible on this matter and are guilty of sin!!!!! REPENT!!!!!

Greetings, Ron,

These are my sole comments on this matter…

Great care was taken during this class to differentiate between that material which was presented to provide historical background/ an understanding of other denominations and that which might be considered appropriate and useful in the context of the Protestant, and particularly the Reformed, community of faith. Anything that was endorsed was biblically based, theologically sound, and in no way violated the spirit of those reflections of Luther as they appeared in the article. For the record, I have never before heard of the DVD of a coincidentally similar title on which I was accused of basing my class.

Sincerely.

Susan Castillo

Sir Aaron Finally Exposes Denise of Surph’s Side Blog as a False Discernmentalist? November 7, 2009

Originally posted in the “Restoration by Biblical Thought” blog which is the official watchblog of “Biblical Thought”.  Every watchblog needs a watchblog as the Bible makes it clear that a true disciple of the  LORD Jesus Christ has to test all things which includes watchblogs.

At times I disagree with Sir Aaron and sometimes I totally agree:

  1. “You both actually make my point, thanks!

Who are you both? And who are the “guys.” The only person arguing in favor of Keller, was John. (I am really having to use all my willpower to avoid snarky comments).

Based on your last two posts (and a visit to your blog), I gather that your points are: (1) Keller is a feminist because he allows women to perform functions that men who are not leaders perform including some teaching. (2) Women shouldn’t teach men under any circumstances. (3) Women can and do have the gift of discernment.

My response to you is the following:

    (1) With respect to Keller being a feminist, I disagree, as would most feminists. Keller’s view hardly fit into the classical definition of a feminist. I do get your point, and I agree that Keller’s doctrine with respect to this issue is flawed. My problem here is that you throw around terms like feminist very loosely.

(2). We agree absolutely that women shouldn’t be teaching men.

    (3) You clearly believe that women can’t teach men but yet can have the gift of discernment. “And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.” This implies that one reason why Paul says women can’t teach men is because they lack discernment or at the very least are more easily prone to being led astray. So I agree with you that women shouldn’t be teaching men. We have no argument there. I’m not particulary convinced that women can have the gift of discernment. However, I’m willing to entertain a case for or against such a position.

Finally, the biggest concern that I have is that I don’t see how what you are doing is much different than teaching men, especially since you routinely challenge men, including pastors and elders, to doctrinal disputes. How is teaching men or challenging them over the internet via your blog or elsewhere, any different than doing so at your local church body? What male leader has endorsed your positions or holds you accountable for your what you write? What male leader has qualified you to lead in this area and confirmed your giftedness in discernment?

For the record, I strongly believe that Denise of Surph’s Side blog does not have the gift of discernment but she does have the gift of gossip. However, the gift of gossip is something all women have so it doesn’t appear to be all that special of a gift.

Apprising Ministries Assumes Rather Than Checking Facts November 7, 2009

The reason why I call “Christian Research Network” the “National Enquirer” of Christianity is that it rarely does any serious research.

This Seeking God: The Way Of The Monk DVD, which we assume formed the basis of what Susan Castillowho continues “to embrace her ‘inner monk’”–teaches in this regard was produced as an:

examination of the strange life of the Benedictine monks at New Mexico’s Monastery of Christ in the Desert, presents the traditional chants, seasonal rituals,… (Online source)

First item left out of the Apprising Ministries blog posting which this quotation comes from is that Susan Castillo was a college student per my understanding with a temporary assignment at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. She appears to be no longer listed in the Redeemer Presbyterian Church directory so maybe she has returned to college student status.  She was not a full-time permanent member of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church staff per my understanding of information from the Redeemer Presbyterian Church website.

I took the time and effort to do  real research by sending an email to Susan Castillo which is something that the researchers at Christian Research Network is too lazy to do.   I got the following response from Susan Castillo:

Greetings, Ron,

“The Way of the Monk” course was a one time course which is no longer offered by Redeemer Presbyterian Church per the Fall 2009 course schedule.

I continue to be amazed at how many members of the Christian Research Network make assumptions or speculate rather than carefully checking the facts before posting a blog article.  Few newspapers in the USA would be so sloppy with the truth as it would soon result in a loss of credibility.

Too  much of the time what is published by members of the Christian Research Network is simply gossip that was never checked to see if it was accurate information.

If You Were a True Male Christian Faithful to Jesus; You Wouldn’t Read a Woman’s Spiritual Discernment Blog!!!! November 7, 2009

All true Spiritual Discernment males know that Ken Silva is in rebellion against God for recommending that men including himself read a Spiritual Discernment  blog written by a woman. Apprising Ministries is a false spiritual discernment blog that clearly supports the Woman’s Liberation Movement.  Without doubt,  Apprising Ministries has the secret agenda of putting a woman pastor in the pulpit of all churches in the USA.  It is time that this secret conspiracy is exposed by this spiritual discernment blog so that all true spiritual discernment males will not only stop reading “Surph’s Side” blog but “Apprising Ministries” blog too.   ;-)

You have been warned about this matter and if you ignore my warnings then I am not guilty of your sin; therefore your blood in not on my hands come judgment day.   May God grant you repentance unto eternal life on this matter.  ;-)

[This is partly satire and partly not satire ....  you go to the Bible and read what Paul has to say on this matter and pray for guidance if you have the guts to question the authority of Pope Ken Silva.]

Surph’s Side Blog – Modest Dress for Women November 6, 2009

Originally posted on “True Faith Defender” and it is one of the most read postings on that blog.  It was a bit off topic for “True Faith Defender” since Denise is more a blind parrot of John MacArthur than Robert Morey.  She does occasionally post on Biblical Thought blog mostly to get traffic from that blog to her Surph’s Side blog as best as I can figure out.

Modest Dress

Modest Dress

Being tired of Denise of Surph’s Side blog making a big deal of how undressed Carrie Prejean is in her eyes. How much clothing does Carrie Prejean have to wear before she becomes modest? Denise doesn’t define anywhere that I am aware of what is Biblical Thought Modest Woman Clothing. It times I detect that Denise is drifting into the legalism of Islam and any moment I expect to read that Denise has decided to return to Mecca.

All we know is that immodest dress appears in the eyes of Denise to be whatever Carrie Prejean appears to be wearing or not wearing at the moment. Denise’s desire to gossip about Carrie Prejean’s clothing or lack of clothing as if somehow the future of Christianity depends upon Carrie Prejean’s clothing taste is a bit difficult to understand.

As far as Arab dress that Denise would approve as it is assumed she is headed into the faith of Islam on her personal journey to Mecca by expert spiritual discernment monitors who detect Islam growing in her mind because of her obsession with modest clothing. It is assumed that the above clothing would be considered modest. The following photo would be considered not modest in the eyes of Denise of Surph’s Side blog
