This blog is the result of an attack on my WordPress blog titled “True Faith Defender” where I dared to post my viewpoint that Mark Driscoll was not being treated fairly by some Watchblogs. Since I desire that the mission of the “True Faith Defender” blog not get off topic, I decided that a new blog needed to be created.

Yesterday I took a break and reviewed in my mind:

  • The events that caused the conflict at the “True Faith Defender” blog.
  • My position on the Mark Driscoll matter for which I was attacked.
  • The way that I attempted to handle the disagreement at the “True Faith Defender” blog.
  • How I can improve my handling of future disagreements since Blogging Popes of Watchblogs do not like getting their viewpoints questioned.
  • How can I create a defense for the new Blog that minimumizes Troll like attacks and Blog Wars with the Blogging Popes of Watchblogs.
  • What topics should the new blog address?

There was a need for me to make my case that some Watchblogs have become too critical in their Blogging Pope attacks on Christians with which they disagree more clear. I had to make my case with evidence being posted rather than knowing in my mind examples of where this exists on various Watchblogs.

What to title the blog? My experience with my most successful blog is that the name of the blog is very important. One has to title the blog with the name that clearly implies as best as possible the mission of the blog. Perhaps mathematics was too much on my mind as I was pondering the title for the new blog on a university campus, but the title that came to mind was (WatchBlog)Squared. Since the mission of the new blog was to be a watchblog of watchblogs, the title (WatchBlog) Squared seemed perfect. I didn’t desire that the new blog simply address the issue of the unfair treatment of Mark Driscoll by some Watchblogs. Tim Keller has been unfairly treated by some watchblogs too. Odds were high that in giving examples of the unfair treatment of Tim Keller and Mark Driscoll by some watchblogs I would find other topics for the new blog.
